Rules and guidelines for using PixelQR

Last updated: 11/23/2025

Service Usage

PixelQR allows users to create dynamic and customizable QR codes. By using our service, you agree to use it responsibly and in accordance with these rules.

Trial and QR Previews

All new users can create trial QR codes (QR Previews) with limited functionality to test the design and QR generation. These QR Previews:

  • Automatically expire after 30 minutes.
  • Do not allow dashboard access or viewing statistics and analytics.
  • Only allow testing the generation and appearance of the QR before deciding whether to continue with a subscription.

Scan Limit and Scheduling

Some QR codes may have a scan limit or date and time scheduling. Once the limit is reached or outside the established schedule, the QR code will stop working until reactivated by the user.

Passwords and Security

If you configure passwords to protect a QR, you are responsible for keeping them secure. PixelQR stores passwords in encrypted form and never in plain text, but we cannot guarantee the security of weak passwords that are shared or disclosed by the user.

Authentication and User Management

We use Clerk for account management and authentication. Clerk stores and protects the data necessary to create and maintain user accounts. We recommend reviewing their privacy policy for more information.

Approximate Location

For analytical purposes, we record the IP of scans and derive an approximate location (for example, city or region). Exact location is not tracked, nor are GPS coordinates stored.

Suspension and Abuse

We reserve the right to suspend or limit accounts if service abuse, misuse of QR Previews, scan manipulation, or violation of these terms is detected.

Payments and Subscriptions

All subscriptions and payments are managed through Stripe. We recommend reviewing their privacy policy for more information. PixelQR does not store sensitive payment information on its servers.

User Responsibility

You are responsible for the content you share through your QR codes, including URLs, third-party personal data, and any protected information. We do not assume responsibility for external use of the generated QR codes.
